INDUSTRIAL VISIT

Industrial visit of VI semester students was organized on 10th February 2012 to UNISPARES Company Ltd. Noida. The composition of the team was as follows:- Number of students--- 32, Date and time of visit--- 10 Feb 2012 at 11 am, Faculty accompanying--- Prof. TPN Singh and Mr. T. Bothichandar.

Unispares is an ISO certified company established in 1983. The company embraces state of art integrated technology and supplies custom machined parts of agricultural and construction machinery to OEM companies located in Germany and USA. It is an 100% export oriented company and primarily deals in forging, precision machining, precision grinding, stamping, welding, heat treatment etc. The highlights were the CNC machines wherein seven machines were for turning operations and two for Vertical milling. Their latest acquisition of CMM (Co-ordinate Measuring Machine) for performing 3D inspection and repeatability upto one micron was proudly displayed.

The students were divided in two batches and were personally briefed by the MD, Mr. P. S. Chauhan. The batches were directed to each machine and the processes of various machining were explained in detail. Products were being manufactured with a tolerance of 2 to 3 microns. The students took keen interest in the CAD/CAM operations and the programmable functions. They were found taking copious notes of the machine characteristics. Photographs of various operations and the end products were taken with due permission. Packing operations of machine parts to be dispatched to Germany were also explained and photographed.

We had very meaningful discussions with Mr. Chauhan in terms of industry based students projects, internship programs, placements and delivery of guest lectures. Mr. Chauhan has agreed to visit our institute and speak to the students on these aspects. He has also agreed to permit our students for a visit to their second plant dealing with forging. The visit ended at 2 pm and the team returned to the college at 2:30 pm.
