Multibody & Hydraulic Simulation with Simscape

Hotel Crown Plaza, Gurgaon

07th February 2017

A Technical Seminar on Multibody & Hydraulic Simulation with Simscape was organized by Mathworks at Hotel Crown Plaza, Gurgaon on 7th February 2017. Mr. Harshit Kumar, Assistant Professor of Mechanical Department and Mr. Amit Jain Assistant Professor of Electronics and Communication Engineering Department from Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida attended the Seminar.

Mr. Devendra Singh, Application Engineer, Mathworks started the seminar with introduction to MatLab. The First Session was on Multi - Domain Modeling MATLAB and Simulink in Automotive Application were discussed. Mr. Singh also included case - studies from automotive industries like ”How Tata Motors Developed Engine Management System for Tata Nano, the World’s Least Expensive Car”. Modeling Multi - domain Systems using Physical Modeling Tools were also a part of discussion.

The topic for the Second Session was Mechanical System Design using Simscape (Physical Modeling). Mr. Singh explained about Simscape and said that it is another tool of MATLAB just like SIMULINK yet further simplified for simulation of mechanical and electrical systems. The topics of Multi - Body Dynamics Simulation, Importing CAD models into Simscape and Performing Multi Body Dynamics analysis with SimMechanic sand SimWise4D were also the part of discussion.

Third and the last session was on Hydraulic System Design & Real-Time Testing in which Mr. Singh discussed the following topics:
1. Modeling hydraulic systems with components such as valves, cylinders, and pipelines,
2. Create custom components with Simscapelanguage
3. Automatically tune parameters of components to meet system requirements
4. Run simulations in real-time for HIL testing

While delivering Vote of Thanks, Mr. Devendra Singh thanked Mr. Srinivas Rao N, General Manager (Tech. Administration) Maruti Suzuki, India limited, for his efforts in opening the seminar.
