DAY 1 – November 28th, 2013
The session started at 10:30 AM with the opening remarks of Mr. Chandrajit Banerjee Director General, CII. He stressed on the fact the development of skills are indeed the driving force of the world economy, particularly to the developing nations like India. It is indeed the highest priority section which needs to be catered to. He stated that NSDC has a target to provide various skills like Carpentry, Handicrafts, shoe making etc. to 500 million Indians by 2022. To achieve this, he highlighted that CII has established 18 Skills Gurukul across many states. CII is working closely with National Planning commission and NSDC to facilitate this. Special attention to states like Jammu & Kashmir and North east states are brought into consideration. Finally, he stated that special attention is given to school drop outs so that they can earn a respectable earning which will ultimately lead to decline in crime ratio committed by Juvenile. |
