E-CONTENT 2013

Informatics (India) Limited organized a National Seminar on E - Content 2013, its National Seminar Series on Publisher - Library Partnership on 23rd October, 2013 at Hotel Le Meridien, New Delhi. Ms. Manju Dahiya, Deputy Librarian represented Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida in this event. The objective of the seminar was to bridge the gap between knowledge and accessibility.

The seminar commenced with the welcome address by Mr. Sanjay Grover, CEO, Informatics India Ltd.and Prof. R. K. Shevgaonkar, Director, IIT Delhi delivered keynote address. He also launched the Informatics new product of i-Scholar.

A panel discussion on E-Content 2013 was held. The panelists were Dr. G. Mahesh, Scientist, NISCAIR, Delhi, Prof. K Kannan, Indraprastha University, Delhi, P. K Upadhaya, NIC, Delhiand Mr. Paul Curtis, Maney Publishing, China. Topics for the panel discussion were Area of Discovery Services, Old Wine in a New Bottle, Library Catalog as the Earliest Discovery Services, Bibliographic Database, Single Point Search, Unified Discovery and Informatics Model of Discovery Services.

Several publishers such as Annual Reviews, RSP, SPIE, Maney Publishing, J Gate participated in this seminar and demonstrated the E- Contents SPIE and latest trend of subscribing detailed of requirement base E-Journals.

At the end of the event Dr. Usha Munshi, IIPA, Delhi rendered vote of thanks and distributed prizes to the winners of Online Quiz.

E-Content 2013 was an effort in the National Seminar on Library Publisher Partnership series to highlight the role of technology in the accessibility of knowledge.It explored convergence of content, information and technology in the present digital age.

The seminar was highly informative as it equipped the participants with the latest technology and trends used in the field of accessibility of knowledge. The event was rightly titled as ‘Bridging the Access Gap Integrating Content, Technology and Services’.
