CISCO INDIA NETWORKING ACADEMY CONFERENCE & IPv6 FUNDAMENTALS WORKSHOP
AMITY INSTITUTE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, UTTAR PRADESH

Cisco Networking Academy in collaboration with Amity University, Uttar Pradesh organized “2013 NetAcad Instructor Conference” on Friday, 13th September 2013. Mr. Divyanshu Sinha, Assistant Professor (CSE) represented Dronacharya Group of Institutions in this event.

 

The event was flanked by Mr. Markus Schwertel (Regional Manager, Asia Pacific Social Innovation Group, CISCO Systems Inc), Mr. Sree Valsan M (Head – ICTS, Amrita VishwaVidyapeetham ), Mr. B. S. Ananth (Technical Manager – SAARC, CISCO Networking Academy), Ms. Anuradha (Program Manager Social Innovation Group, India & SAARC), DrBalvinderShukla (Acting Vice Chancellor, Amity University) & Prof (Dr) Sunil Kumar Khatri (Director, Amity Institute of Information Technology)

 

The conference was inaugurated by Mr. Markus Schwertel by lighting the lamp of knowledge.

 

Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Acting Vice Chancellor was in full praise of the initiative taken by CISCO to bridge the gap between industry and academia. She emphasized on many more such events to make the students industry ready and compete at par with students from other countries on a global scale.

 

The first session was conducted by Ms. Anuradha who gave a brief description of the various technologies being offered by CISCO to the students and faculties in the field of networking. She also highlighted the significant changes made in the new curriculum designed by CISCO for students.

 

The second session of the day was hosted by Mr. Markus Schwertel who focused on the ever increasing need of networking in the real world due to the boom in the technological needs of mankind.

 

He emphasized the fact that the industry was in real need of skilled people in the field of Networking and that CISCO’S initiative is to produce readily employable Network Engineers.

 

The next session was presided over by Mr. M Sreevalsan who gave a detailed description on IPv6 Fundamentals and its applications in present day networks. He also stressed on migration of present networks from IPv4 to IPv6.

 

The post lunch session was on Troubleshooting CISCO Networks by Mr. B. S. Ananth. He explained in detail the various strategies that customers and network engineers can use to troubleshoot their networks for optimal performance.

 

The final session was conducted by CISCO Student Ambassadors. An year ago a team of six students each from two institutions namely Sir Padmabat Singhania University & Trident College, Orissa were chosen as CISCO Student IT Ambassadors (CISCO SITA). They were given the role of increasing IT literacy by visiting schools in backward areas and villages and teaching kids from villages on how to use computers for their basic, day to day work. The ambassadors demonstrated their efforts in this direction through short documentaries which covered their visits to such schools. They received an overwhelming response and an standing ovation from the audience present in the conference for their efforts.

 

The session was brought to a close by distribution of certificates of participation and a closing speech by Prof. (Dr.) Khatri, Director, Amity Institute of Information Technology.
