E-Yantra Lab Setup Initiative and Robotics Teacher Competition

E-Yantra Robotics Teacher Competition was organized by Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay at MGM College of Engineering & Technology, Noida (Nodal Centre for Noida Region) on 16th January, 2015. e-Yantra is a project sponsored by MHRD through the National Mission on Education through ICT (NMEICT). The motive of this project is to train teachers through a workshop and e-Yantra Robotics Teacher Competition (eYRTC) and help colleges to set up robotics labs by providing guidance and starter robotic kits. The participating team from Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida comprised of Faculty members - Mr. Shiv Bhushan (Team leader), Mr. Shamim Alam, Mr. Sapan Kumar Gupta from Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering and Mr. Kapil Dev Sharma, Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering.

 

The event started at 9:00 AM with registration process followed by welcome note by Prof. S. J. Bagh, Principal, MGM College of Engineering & Technology and inaugural speech of Dr. Krishna Lala,(Prof., IIT-Bombay), Project Manager of e-Yantra. The robotics competition started at 10:00 AM. Sixteen teams qualified for this round after the initial process and tasks assigned by e-Yantra, IIT, Bombay.

 

After the competition, the labs at different colleges were virtually inaugurated. DGI, Greater Noida robotics laboratory was also inaugurated on same day. Total 5 teams, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon, Inderprastha Engineering College, Ghaziabad, IDEAL Institute of Technology, Ghaziabad and Sharda University, Greater Noida got a prize of robokit from e-Yantra for successful completion of all tasks assigned by e-Yantra team.

 

The program came to an end with Ms. Ashvini Deshmukh extending Vote of Thanks to all the participants and organizing bodies. The opportunity served as a platform for students and teachers to enhance practical skills and creativity in order to have better robotics knowledge.
