Working towards a greener society, Dronacharya College of Engineering has taken up tree plantation in their campus ahead of the World Environment Day on June 5. Tree planting and Care is a holy act. One tree is equated to 10 children in Indian scriptures. The importance of trees in purifying the air, as natural resources, maintaining the ecological balance, preventing soil erosion, as medicines, habitats for faunal species, providing nutrients to the soil etc. is well known. The environment awareness campaign was undertaken by the Chairman Dr. Satish Yadav with plantation of a sapling on 9th March, 2011. He expressed that in our endeavor, a community, which can create huge positive impact is our teachers and students. Any effort by our learned teaching community and brilliant students will give the right result. He appealed to all teachers and students, to carry forward the message of protecting the natural environment, including our prized flora and fauna from destruction or pollution. This way we will have green campus and also a correct environment for learning. |
