For Innovation Series Show
“Dupont Presents: Power of Shoonya: Challenge for Zero”

A series of visits for students to ET Now news channel, Noida was organized for students of 2nd and 3rd Year. ET Now is a business news channel launched on 17th June 2009, owned and operated by Times group. It is headquartered in Mumbai, India.

 

The purpose of the visits was to watch, understand and learn from the Innovation Series Show “Dupont presents: Power of Shoonya: Challenge for Zero” which was shot during 16th to 19th September 2013. It is scheduled to be telecast during October 2013.

 

The show, sponsored by Dupont, was a premier example of innovation which brought in and acknowledged the power of new ideas. The main focus of the show was farm tech prosperity which is the base of the Indian economy.

 

The Power of Shunya was DuPont's quest :

1. To feed a growing population with zero hungry mouths.

2. To build a new infrastructure with zero construction casualties.

3. To provide electricity to villages with zero carbon footprint.

4. A quest for zero nutrition deficiency by collaborating with customers, governments, NGOs and thought leaders.

 

The aim of the show was to make a difference to the lives of millions of Indians every day and for generations into the future." The show also explored the sustainable science-based solutions to core issues plaguing a growing economy.

 

The show delivered a contest consisting of 24 teams which came up with their various innovative projects and the business plans for those projects. Eight teams were shortlisted in eight episodes for the finale. The eminent jury comprised of 3 members who were top management professionals from the industry.

 

The show was hosted by Gaurav Kapoor, a famous host from the world of television and involved projects of the students from IITs and other engineering colleges in the country supported by the business plans prepared by the students of IIMs and various top notch management institutes.

 

The visit helped students learn the innovation concept and the best possible ways to present those innovations along with the development of business plans for the same. It proved to be very knowledgeable visits full of new experiences for the students.
