A seminar on “Career Counseling & Personality Development” was organized on 19th Feb 2013 for final year Engineering students. Students from Mechanical, Computer Science, ECE & IT departments were the audience. Dr. M. S. Murali, Director and Prof. Ashwani Kuma, Administrator-Academics attended the seminar. Prof. TPN Singh, Advisor (R&D) was convener of the program.
The resource persons were :
1.Prof. Aled Griffith – Head of Law School, University of Bangor, UK.
2.Mr. Kunal Oberoi – CEO, Education Link, New Delhi.
3.Ms. Nilu Lal – IELTS Trainer
Prof. TPN Singh welcomed the guests on behalf of the Director and Management and gave a brief overview on the objective of the seminar. He expressed his gratitude for their visit and enthused the student community to profit and make full use of the knowledge imparted by the visiting dignitaries.
Dr. M. S. Murali welcomed the guests with bouquets and thanked them for their valuable time being given. The seminar commenced with Ms. Nilu Lal giving a brief about importance of soft skills during campus placements. She stressed on the need of excellence in communication and confidence building. Two students were called on the stage and description of each was asked from the student audience. This was an example of expression, usage of language and confidence. She further emphasized that knowledge without expression is of little value as it is never used .
Prof. Aled Griffith rendered a meaningful talk on the aspects of studies at UK. He gave a detailed description of Bangor University and the procedure for admissions. Bangor University happens to be more than 200 years old and one of the top Institutes of learning in UK.
Mr. Kunal Oberoi spoke on the advantages of higher education. He stressed upon the exciting challenges faced while being in academic line and culture
Question/Answer session took place where queries of students were addressed.
Prof. TPN Singh rendered the vote of thanks. He thanked the visiting dignitaries for their visit and the Management for providing such a meaningful platform to the student community.
Memento was presented to the dignitaries as a token of gratitude and remembrance. Particiaption Certificates of the seminar were handed over to the students by the Prof. Aled Griffith. The seminar came to an end at 2:45 pm.
