Prof. Niti Gupta, Asst. Professor – Dept. of Computer Science was nominated to attend a Two Weeks AICTE Sponsored FDP at BVICAM, Delhi on the topic “Best Practices for Software Quality Engineering and 21st Century Teaching Learning System”. |

The FDP commenced with an Inaugural session by Dr. Akhilesh Gupta, Hon'ble Secretary, UGC, New Delhi, followed by Dr. Ratan K. Datta with his valuable words on the changing perception of a “Teacher” by an amazingly informative presentation. It was a great experience to listen his views and definition of teacher. |

The second session was delivered by Prof. Karmeshu who shared his knowledge on “Relevance of Mathematical Models for research in Computer Science". He suggested some good books and research papers to understand the details about Research Oriented Mathematical Models. The Third and fourth sessions were focussed on Capability Maturity Models. The sessions were delivered by Mr. Rakesh Maheshwari, STQC, MC&IT. He shared his knowledge about “Processing Improvement through CMM and CMMI". He explained all levels of the model very effectively with real life examples. It was an informative session with an interactive exercise which the participants immensely enjoyed. |
The Second day was full of knowledge. The intricacies of many topics like CMM, CMMI, ISO, SPICE and principles of six sigma, along with ITSM and ISMS models were explained. Interactive exercises on the topics taught were practiced. |
The third and fourth day focussed on "Modern Learning and Pragmatic Pedagogies". The
sessions were conducted by Mr. Amitesh Solanki. He deliberated upon different ways of teaching and techniques to make lectures according to the student’s interest. The sessions were supplemented with practice exercises and demo lectures. |
On the fifth day of FDP, first two sessions were covered by Mr.Amitesh Solanki. He shared his knowledge about Evaluation, Assessment, Reporting and Judging. Last session of the day was covered by Dr. Maninder Singh with sharing the information on “DNS and ARP Poisoning”. Dr., Maninder generated a great deal of interest in the delivered topic by some practical examples. |
On the Sixth Day of FDP the First session was delivered by Prof. P. S. Grover who shared his views on “Outcome based Learning and Quality Assurance”. In the Second session of the same day Prof. J. C. Kapur taught the advantages of Case Study Based Teaching and Learning. In the afternoon session, Dr. Karan Singh shared his knowledge on Quality Services and practical knowledge on NS2 simulator. |
The Seventh day of FDP consisted of various informative sessions comprising of talks by learned speakers including Ms. Neha Kapoor who shared her experience on “Life Skills” with the help of live examples. On the same day Prof. Hardeep Singh shared his knowledge about the latest trends on Software Engineering. Later in the day Prof. Shiban Kaul, Dy. Director of IIT, Delhi suggested good points to include in Research paper for acceptance in IEEE and other reputed journals. The following day of this FDP saw two sessions on Software Quality Testing and other sessions on Research Methodology and how to write research synopsis. |
On the penultimate day of the FDP, there were some very good sessions on SSAD, Automated software testing. The Grand Challenges in Computer Science Research and 21st century Teaching Learning System were also covered by many learned speakers. |
On the concluding day of FDP there were sessions on Rough Set Theory, Entrepreneurship and Quality teaching learning by different speakers. The FDP Program completed with Valedictory Session where Certificates were distributed to the participants. It was a good learning experience for the partakers. |
