IIGP - 2013

Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) jointly with the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India; Lockheed Martin Corporation; Indo-US S&T Forum and the IC2 Institute at the University of Texas at Austin launched the DST-Lockheed Martin India Innovation Growth Programme (IIGP) 2013.

Prof. Anu Rathi, Prof. Shamim Alam, Prof. Gulshan Shrivastava and Prof G. R. Tyagi were delegated to attend the Programme at FICCI House, New Delhi on 4th Feb 2013. The purpose and intent of the Programme was to publicize and share knowledge regarding progress of the Programme with various Companies, Industries, Institutes and Individual innovators. Approximately 200 delegates attended the Programme.

The event started with a presentation by representative of FICCI on India Innovative Growth Programme followed by a video presentation by Stanford Global School of Business USA, and IC2 Institute University of Texas at Austin. It was followed with a presentation by Mr. Sujeet Thakur of FICCI on Intellectual Property Rights.

IIGP is a platform which connects the Innovators with Industry to turn their ideas into commercial ventures. The Programm has witnessed innovators in diverse industries including social sectors, technology, services and automotives. It helps Innovators during commercialization of innovation upto marketing stage. The extensive training modules help participants gauge and streamline their capabilities and appropriate business strategies. In-depth market Analysis is provided to innovators to help them gauge viability of market.

On attending the vent the college delegate are of the view that we as technical educational Institute may get benefitted with IIGP in certain cases only by bringing the innovative ideas of student’s projects havingpotential of commercial viability to a stage of patency and functional prototype.
