The Students’ Branch of Computer Society of India, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida, organized a guest lecture cum hands on workshop on Digital Image Processing using MATLAB on 18th September 2013 at DGI by eminent academician Prof. Umesh Ghanekar, Head of Department of Electronics & Communication, NIT, Kurukshetra.

Professor Ghanekar received a warm welcome from the students and was greeted by Prof. (Dr.) M. S. Murali, Director DGI with a bouquet. Prof. Sachin Gupta, HOD Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering, delivered the welcome address. In his address, Prof. Gupta introduced Prof. Ghanekar, and urged students to make the most of the opportunity and motivated them to actively take part in the workshop session.

Prof. Ghanekar started on a very interesting note by explaining the correlation between what we see on the display screen and how it is perceived by the human eye. He went on to explain the very intricate topics pertaining to image processing like the various transformation and the steps involving the digital image processing. During the highly interactive session, Prof. Ghanekar received several questions from the students and he patiently resolved all queries.
