Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida
iTEP Valedictory Session
April 14th, 2014
 

The results of the International Test of English Proficiency (iTep) academic exam were declared on 14th April, 2014 at Dronacharya Group Institutons, Greater Noida by Mr. Sarath S., Country Manager, Expansion & Alliances iTEP India.

 

A total of 50 students from various engineering disciplines such as Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics& Communication Engineering & Electrical Engineering took this prestigious exam conducted at DGI, Greater Noida on 3rd March, 2014.

 

The test comprised of five sections namely Reading, Listening, Grammar, Writing and Speaking.

 

Prof. MS Murali welcomed Mr. Sarath with a floral bouquet. Mr. Sarath then gave a brief overview of iTEP-International Test of English Proficiency, A Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India accredited ‘English Certification’.

 

He termed iTEP as the new kid on the block of internationally recognized English Certification. The company's goal was to create an innovative assessment tool which provides its users with unmatched efficiency, convenience, comprehensiveness, and affordability.

 

Mr. Sarath discussed the need for proficiency of students in English which is a global medium for communication as one of the major obstacles to make engineering graduate students employable. He quoted a staggering survey conducted by TOI which stated that out of 5 lakh students graduating annually only 25 percent of them were employable out of which further 14 percent were absorbed by the organized sector.

Then came the time finally for which the students were waiting with baited breathe-announcement of the results. He gave a section wise analysis of the performance of the students of DGI, Greater Noida. The students of DGI, Greater Noida excelled in the speaking section where more than 80 per cent students were in the upper intermediate and mastery rating of the iTEP.

A total of twenty six students cleared this certification exam. Mr. Nishant Pal - Mech Engg and Ms. Aatmika –Computer Science & Engineering were jointly the toppers of this exam. Ms. P. Sai Sheela- CSE and Ms. Shweta Kandari - MechEngg stood second and third respectively. They were given Certificates of Merit by Honbl’e Director, Prof. MS Murali, DGI, Greater Noida.

The session came to an end with the presentation of Memento by Director, Prof. MS Murali DGI, Greater Noida to Mr. Sarath as a token of appreciation.
