Report on an “International Conference on Automation and Mechanical Systems”

(ICAMS-2013)

21st and 22nd of March, 2013

 
 

An International Conference on “Automation and Mechanical Systems” (ICAMS-2013) was held at Lingaya’s University, Faridabad on 21st and 22nd of March, 2013. Two students from Mechanical Engineering Department presented their papers in the conference. Aman Verma ME-IVth semester presented his paper on the topic “Self Balanced Two Wheeled Pendulum” and Mr. Arpit Mehra ME VI Semester presented his paper on “Electro-handy: A Vehicle For Physically Disabled People” .

 

The main objective of the International Conference was to take stock of current scenario of Automation and Mechanical Systems available and being developed worldwide. It was to discuss about the regional preference for pragmatic technologies and to create a network for International co-operation in Automation and Mechanical Technologies. Delegates from countries like Israel, Europe and USA participated in the conference.

 

Mr. K. N. Rustagi, Convener of the conference from Lingaya’s University, addressed and welcomed the delegates and presented a brief introduction on need of Automation and Mechanical Technologies in today’s world and their scope in the future.

 

Mr. Milind Kulkarni – Head, Business Development-Siemens Ltd, threw light on the recently developed technology of Automatic Changing Gears.

 

Mr. Ravi Agarwal – Director- Pepperl (India) Pvt. Ltd, appraised the delegates about Recent Trends in Sensor Technology.

 

Professor Gabriel Hugh Elcaim, University of California, Santa Cruz presented his research paper on A GPS-Guided Wing-Sailed Autonomous Catamaran through the video conferencing.

 

The main session started at 11.30 am after the guest and expert lectures and parallel session were conducted.

 

On 22nd March, 2013, Mr. Aman Verma and Mr. Arpit Mehra presented their papers during the parallel session from 11.30 am to 2.30 pm.

 

During the closing ceremony certificates were distributed to all the delegates who presented their papers.

The two days conference on “Automation and Mechanical Systems” was a great contribution towards Automation and Mechanical Systems technology. It provided a valuable platform for exchange of ideas between professionals, scientists, engineers and students. It included an astonishing variety of research papers on automation systems and robotics. The conference imparted a great knowledge about the automation in industry and future perspectives. The conference also explored the interplay between Automation and Mechanical Systems and inspired enthralling discussions on the future of Automation and Mechanical Systems.
