The competition was conducted under three different categories of branches. 40 projects were demonstrated by the students from different colleges and Universities from all over India.

Mr. Diwakar Kushwaha, student of VI Semester Mechanical Engineering participated in this competition and demonstrated his project titled ”Lift with Less Electricity”. There were 15 projects in Mechanical Engineering category. In first phase students presented their projects through PPTs to the judges and other competitors. The time for the presentation was 10 minutes and 2 minutes for the queries. In queries session judges asked about the detailed working of the project and about the components used in this project. In second phase of competition, the demonstration of project was carried out.

This project by Mr. Diwakar Kushwaha is a reliable system that uses arrangement of pulleys and metal balls for operating the lift. Self weight of person in the lift as well as these metal balls moves the lift up and down. This reduces the requirement of electricity to a great extent. Movement control of the lift is done by the metal balls. This project was well received by all the participants and was appreciated by the judges for its energy conservation effort.
