INNOVATION-2013

NATIONAL LEVEL PROJECT COMPETITION

SIES-GST COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING, NERUL, NAVI MUMBAI

On 8th & 9th March, 2013

“INNOVATION-2013” was organized by SIES-GST Enginerring College, Nerul Navi Mumbai and Computer Society of India on 8th & 9th March, 2013. It was inaugurated on 8th March, 2013 by Mr. Abraham Koshy, Head of CSI Mumbai & Dr. Alka Mahajan, Principal.

Shubham Dikshit represented Department of Information Technology, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida.

The competition was held for the budding engineers to show case their talent and skills. Two events were organized during Innovation 2013 : working project/ model and technical paper writing.

The judges were from various educational institutes and industries. Mr. Abraham Koshy, Ms. Deepti Reddy, Ms. Aparna M Bannore and Dr. Alka Mahajan, Principal, were also the part of judging panel.

During the welcome speech the Chief Guest highlighted the importance and objectives of technical project competition. He said that by participating in such programs the students would be able to have the feel of real world technology and get an opportunity to show their talents and skills.

The competition was divided in three different stages.

STAGE 1- Presentation

During Stage1 every competitor had to present their project attributes. 10 projects were shortlisted for the next stage.

STAGE 2- Working Model

During Stage2 the shortlisted competitor from Stage 1 showed their working model. After the evaluation and checking by the judges 5 projects were shortlisted for the final round.

STAGE 3 – Question–Answer

The third and the final round was question-answer round wherein questions were put to shortlisted competitors from Round 2.

Shubham Dikshit’s project “Augmented Reality in Class Room Learning” was selected in the top 5 projects and it was appreciated by most of the students and the judges.
