SPORTS MEET

The Annual Sports Meet was inaugurated on 22nd March 2012 by Mr. Rajiv Sharma, CEO, Adani Gas Ltd.

On the inaugural day the league matches for Volleyball were played. In Badminton, first knock out round was played in which 122 Boys & 16 Girls participated. In Tug of War, four matches were held. Knock out matches was held for indoor games Carrom, Chess, Pool, Billiards and Table Tennis.

On the second day, in Volleyball two semifinals, one between IT (Sr.) and CSE (Sr.) and second between MIE (Sr.) and ECE (Sr.) were played. Badminton semifinal was also played and Sagar Saini (CSE-IV) and Kishlay Kaushal (CS-IV) qualified for the final in the Boys category and Shrey Suman (CS-II) and Renu Pandit (CS-II) qualified for the final in the Girls category. In Lemon Spoon Race, 30 Girls participated in first round & 6 Girls qualified for the finals. In Pool and Billiards, 36 and 20 students participants respectively and Muhib Nazki and Rahul qualified for the finals in Pool.

On third day, final match of Volleyball between IT (Sr.) and ME (Sr.) was played and IT (Sr.) won the tournament. In Badminton Sagar Saini (CS-IV) won the final in boys category and Shreya Suman (CSE-II) won the final in girls category.

Tug of War final was flagged off by Hon’ble Chairman Dr. Satish Yadav. ME (Sr.) won the tournament. In Carrom final match was played between Ankit Lohia (MIE-VIII) and Devendra Kumar Yadav (ME-II) in which Ankit Lohia (MIE-VIII) won the match. In Table Tennis, final match was played between Kishlay Kaushal (CSE-IV) & Kulprakash (CSE-IV) and Kishlay Kaushal (CSE-IV) won the match in the Boys Category, in the Girl category final match was played between Akanksha (ECE-IV) & Nishu (ECE-VI) and Akanksha (ECE-IV) won the match.

The sports meet concluded with distribution of Medals and certificates by the Chief Guest Hon’ble Chairman Dr. Satish Yadav during valedictory function held on 24th Mar 2012. Chairman Sir highlighted the importance of sports in student’s life & motivated students to participate in sports with full zeal. He further added that sports inculcate the team spirit & discipline in the students which helps them when they join industry and have to work in a team.
