DRONACHARYA GROUP OF INSTITUTIONS, GREATER NOIDA
Industrial Visit - Center for E-Governance
Lodhi Road, New Delhi
February 5th - 6th, 2014
 

An industrial visit of over 90 students of Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida was organized by Department of Computer Science & Engineering to the ‘Center for E-Governance’ Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY) Lodhi Road, New Delhi during  5th- 6th February, 2014. The visit was organized for two successive days where Mr. Manoj Kumar Yadav, Assistant Professor and Mrs. Amrita Ticku, Assistant Professor, from CSE Dept. accompanied the students.

 

The students and the faculty received a warm welcome from Mr. Sunil Kumar, Project Head CeG at their campus. He guided the team from Dronacharya after an interactive session about the various MMPs (Mission Mode Projects) and firsthand knowledge on various e-Governance initiatives in the country. A hands-on experience on the web-enabled e-services being delivered in the country such as banking, land records or commercial taxes etc. was also organized at the seminar hall. The students and the staff members were also given a brief insight on the use of National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) which comprises 31 mission mode projects (MMPs).

 

The visit of the CeG showcased applications, demonstrations and presentations that reflected the progress achieved in implementation and usage of e-Governance. It covered successful and high impact e-Gov applications and content based on improved citizen service delivery, innovativeness, cost effectiveness and overall impact in fulfilling developmental objectives of the government. Various social sector initiatives related to health and education were also discussed. Shri J. Satyanarayana, Secretary, DeitY and Dr. A.K. Garg, Additional Director, DeitY interacted with the visiting students and encouraged them to explore careers in the e-governance sector.

 

At the end of the visit, an online quiz program was organized for the students and based on the scoring, following students were awarded with gifts:

 

First Day:

3.  Mr. Pankaj Singh (Third Position)

 

Second Day:

 

1. Ms. Bhawna Madan (First Position)

2. Ms. Neha Pandit (Second Position)

3. Ms. Aatmika Shree (Third Position)
