Mr. Sachin Gupta from Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida attended a Three day International Conference “Scipy 2013” organized by FOSSEE (Free and Open Source Software For Education) Project of IIT Bombay. The event was sponsored by Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India. This conference focused to spread the use of Python for Scientific Computing in various fields and among different communities.

SciPy India aimed to provide opportunities to spread the use of the Python programming language in the Scientific Computing community in India. The Conference provided a unique opportunity to interact with the "Who's who" of the Python for Scientific Computing fraternity and learn, understand, participate, and contribute to Scientific Computing using Python.

The Key speakers included Mr. Ondrej Certik, CNLS Postdoctoral Research Associate. Los Alamos National Laboratory, from University of Nevada Reno in Reno, Nevada, United States. Mr. Certik has 180 repositories written in Python, C, and Shell. He delivered sessions on SciPy, NumPy and encouraged developers for hands on practice on his repositories.

Mr. Ajith Kumar B.P., RF & Electronics Laboratory, IUAC (Intra University Accelerator Centre), India also joined the conference to enlighten the participants. He spoke at length about expEyes,from the PHOENIX project of Inter-University Accelerator Centre, New Delhi. It is a hardware and software framework for developing science experiments, demonstrations and projects without getting in to the details of electronics or computer programming.
