BOSCH TRAINING PROGRAM

Bosch Limited, New Delhi

1st July to 31st July 2013

 
 

Twenty Two Students of B.Tech VII Semester Mechanical Engineering Branch got the opportunity to get trained by BOSCH LIMITED. Bosch Limited is India’s largest automotive component manufacturer and also one of the largest Indo – German companies in India. Bosch Limited manufactures and trades in all the three major business sectors of Bosch:

1. Automotive Technology (Diesel and Gasoline Fuel Injection Systems, Car Multimedia Systems, Auto Electricals and Accessories, etc)

2. Industrial Technology (Packaging Machines, Solar Energy, etc).

3. Consumer Goods and Building Technology (Power Tools, Security Systems).

 

This hands-on training program not only enhanced the students’ knowledge about the working of engines but also honed their technical skills in the working environment of Bosch Ltd. under the 4 week training program.

 

SUMMARY OF TRAINING:

The students underwent the different areas of training under the 4 week training program.

1. 1st WEEK: Location of engine components. Working of 4-Stroke and 2-Stroke Engine, Location of Different Types of sensors.

2. 2nd WEEK: Diesel Engine-Working, Comparison with SI Engine, Advantages. Diesel Pumps- PF, PE, rotary and common rail diesel injection.

3. 3rd WEEK: Auto-electrical components like alternator, starter, battery-working and testing.

4. 4th WEEK: Cooling System, Lubrication System, ABS, Filters and Sensors Working, Wheel Alignment-Changing and Balancing, Brakes.

 

KEY LEARNINGS FROM BOSCH TRAINING PROGRAM:

Apart from the conventional classroom teaching, they emphasized on imparting the practical knowledge, which was indeed a great help to the students. Along with these topics they were made aware of the advancements in the modern engines which are done with the aim of achieving maximum power and increasing the life of engines.

 

The training programme ended on 31st July with distribution of training certificates to the students.
