“Third SPEED-IUCEE Student Leadership Workshop”

R.K. University, Rajkot, Gujarat

12th to 13th August 2013

 
 

IUCEE in collaboration with SPEED, a global student organization has developed a platform for students to exploit their innovativeness by ingraining in them skills, knowledge and creative ideas. The objective is to create global engineers to tackle and resolve issues of national and international nature. To achieve this objective, “SPEED-IUCEE Student Workshop” has been planned in the domain of “Creativity and Innovation in Engineering Education”.

 

The third SPEED-IUCEE was organized at R.K. University, Rajkot, Gujarat from 12th to 13th Aug 2013 where in Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida participated. The team composed of the following:

1. Satyam Saraswat V-Sem ME

2. Gopal Gupta V-Sem ME

3. Vikash Kumar V-Sem ME

4. Smriti Kumari V-Sem ECE

5. Bharat Bhardwaj V-Sem ECE

6. Amarnath Bajpai III-Sem EEE

7. Akhilesh Pandey III-Sem IT

The event started on 12th Aug 2013 at 9:00 am with inauguration ceremony. Mr. Rohit and Ms. Nandini, members of SPEED-IUCEE enthused the students with the wonders of technology and diffusive innovation taking place all over the world. Every student should vie to be a part of the present day technology explosion. Young persons of all ages are the architect of path-breaking innovations worth emulating. The participants gave their introduction and briefly spoke on their vision for future. Teams were formed by chit system and they were asked to enumerate the problems and issues being faced by the social system and engineering education. The topics were based on the problems spelt out by the students. Out of the 10 problems documented by each team, two were shortlisted for action plan preparation. The participants had to pitch their ideas and action plans in form of presentation the next day.

 

On 13th Aug 2013, the students gave presentations on the action plan developed. Three experienced SPEED-IUCEE members judged the performance and declared the list of selected candidates. Out of 7 students from our college, 4 students Gopal Gupta, Vikash Kumar, Smriti Kumari, and Bharat Bhardwaj were selected to be the officials of SPEED-IUCEE Chapter to be formed at the college. The selected students shall be participating at the national level workshop, the venue for which shall be intimated shortly. The selected students at the national level will be attending an international workshop abroad.
