Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida was privileged to inaugurate the Indian Society for Technical Education, Faculty and Student Chapter on 20th September, 2013. Honourable S. Basil Gnanappa, Executive Secretary, Indian Society of Technical Education graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and inaugurated the Chapter. The occasion saw the presence of esteemed and distinguished Guests of Honour Prof. (Dr.) M. N Hoda, Director, Bharatiya Vidyapeeth’s College of Engineering, Delhi, Prof. (Dr) D. K Banwet, Department of Management Studies, IIT Delhi, and Prof. R. K Vyas, Regional Vice President, Computer Society of India. |

The charismatic aura of ISTE Faculty and Student Chapter inauguration started at 11:00 a.m with invocation of lamp seeking blessings of Lord Ganesha and Maa Saraswati. It was followed by Ganesh Stuti divinely sung by our students Shivangi, Devendra, Shweta and Dipankar. |

The Seminar Hall, venue for inauguration of the Chapter, was diligently enlightened with the presence of Head of Departments and faculty members from the Department of Information Technology, Department of Mechanical Engg, Department of Applied Sciences, Department of Computer Science Engg, Department of Electronics & Communication Engg., Department of Electrical & Electronics Engg, Department of Civil Engg, Department of Electronics & Computer Engg, Department of Computer Science & IT, Department of Management Studies and Department of MCA along with cherished and inestimable Dronacharyans. |

The session was anchored by Shivangi (ECE-5th Sem), Sukanya (ECE-5th Sem), Kriti (CSE-5th Sem) and Neha (CSE-5th Sem). |

Prof. (Dr.) M .S. Murali, Director, DGI, Greater Noida addressed the inaugural session with his welcome speech. He encouraged the faculties and students to become active members of ISTE. He urged them to participate in different programmes under the banner of ISTE, New Delhi. He also congratulated the faculties and three hundred thirty five students of DGI who have the membership of Indian Society for Technical Education. He appreciated the efforts of Ms.Mahamaya Mohanty, Asst.Professor, Dept. of IT in establishing the Chapter.

Prof. TPN Singh, Advisor-Research and Development, DGI shared in brief the different projects being carried out by the students. He also shared the accolades achieved by our students with their active participations in various inter-college and national level competitions. Prof. Singh shared various initiatives of the faculty members in the field of research and experimental developments. |

The Faculty Chapter and Student Chapter Certificates were unfolded by Prof. S Basil Gnanappa, Prof. (Dr.) D. K. Banwet and Prof. (Dr.) M. N. Hoda. |

During his speech, Prof. Gnanappa focused on different ISTE sponsored projects. He said that ISTE provides support for continuing Professional Development through learning opportunities and tools for recording and planning. One being the member of it can publish professional journals or magazines. It provides networks for professionals to meet and discuss their field of expertise. |
|
Prof. (Dr.) M. N Hoda, enthusiastically deliberated and thrilled the audience when he spoke on the topic “Empower Youth with 21st Century Skills”, wherein he discussed the advantages of associating with the professional societies and its facilitation in developing total quality professionals in line with the expectations of the industry/corporate. He focused on software engineering and its relevance for technical livelihood. Prof. (Dr.) Hoda cited awesome quotes and examples that enthralled and encouraged the gathering. He was congratulated by the dignitaries on the dais for his valuable message to the 21st century generation. |

Prof. (Dr.) D. K Banwet, emphasized the essence of quality management and operation research along with their practical applications in our day to day life. His discussion regarding education stimulated the audiences to deal with business projects that would keep us alert about the modern technology along with its magnificent marketing perspective. His deliverables were treasurable moments for DGI, Greater Noida. |

Prof. R. K. Vyas depicted the importance of various professional bodies and professionals being the part of it. He emphasized on broader engagement of the professional bodies and their members in wider economic activities, including the public sector who can enhance the perception of the relevance of bodies and help to retain new entrants to the profession thus helping in the social and educational developments. |

The Chief Guest and Guests of Honour were felicitated with mementos by Prof. (Dr.) M. S Murali, Prof. B. L. Kaul, Registrar, DGI, Greater Noida. They were also presented with International Journal of Engineering Sciences and Management (IJESM) the Bi-Annual Journal of DGI, Greater Noida. |

The inaugural ceremony came to an end with Vote of Thanks by Prof. D. V Bhise, Head of Department, Mechanical Engineering. He thanked the dignitaries for sparing the valuable time and gracing the occasion. He also thanked the students and staff who left no stone unturned to make the inauguration of ISTE Chapter a grand success. |
