Workshop on Robotics & Embedded Systems was organized by Mechanical Engineering Department at Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida on 10th-11th October 2013. The workshop was conducted by Infotrust India Pvt. Ltd.

Resource person for the workshop were Mr. Amitesh Ranjan, Executive Director, & Mr. Shravan, Technical Consultant from Infotrust India Pvt. Ltd. Infotrust is an IT industry that deals in software trading as well as Robotics training.

The objective of this workshop was to train students in the area of Robotics (Programming & assembling Robots) for various applications.

At the outset Prof. D V Bhise, HOD, Mechanical Engineering Department introduced guest speaker Mr. Amitesh Ranjan & Mr. Shravan. He also mentioned briefly about relevance and importance of organizing this workshop.

Mr. Amitesh Ranjan started the workshop by explaining the concept of Embedded System. He said that Embedded System is a combination of hardware and software in such a way that software is buried in hardware to control certain mechanical system to perform a task or group of task in given time.

He also explained the following topics:

1. How to design Robot

2. Two algorithms to perform task

3. Differential Drive Mechanism to run the two back motors.

4. Constitutions of Robots

5. Servo Motor

6. Gears

7. Basic Electrical control system

8. Transmitting circuit

On the second day, 11th October 2013, students were taught to program the Robot by using embedded system. Robot assembling was also demonstrated. Demonstration was given on coding obstacle avoider Robots. Students showed keen interest in the workshop and came up with lot of queries pertaining to programming and assembling of Robots.

Out of the six teams that participated in the workshop, two were given the task of building a Robot for specific application. Each team by their own logic was able to build a Robot. At the end competition was held to test these Ronbots.

Participation Certificates were awarded by Prof. Ashwani Kumar, Academic Administrator, DGI Greater Noida & Mr. Amitesh Ranjan to all the participants.
