Short Training Program on “Network Security and Firewall” |

A one week Short Training Program (STP) on “Network Security and Firewall” was organized at DGI Greater Noida in association with NITTTR Chandigarh through ICT MHRD, New Delhi . This was the first training program at DGI after setting up of Network Center of NITTTR Chandigarh. 30 participants from various departments registered for this STP. There were eleven centers across northern India. |
The session was inaugurated by NITTTR Director Dr. M.P. Poonia. |
In her address, Dr. Maitreyee Dutta, HOD CSE - NITTTR Chandigarh said that the aim of the project was to train the teachers about Cyber Security and Forensic tools which include the network security, cyber security networks, security in social networking websites and operating system security etc. This was the first course taken up by NITTTR Chandigarh on Network Security and Firewalls. |
The inaugural session was delivered by Dr. Harvir Singh, Director, Hindu College of Engineering, Sonepat on “Overview of Network Security” in which he explained the basics of a computer network. |
Mr. Himanshu Jangra, Expert from e Core Techno Solutions shared his experience on forensic tools. He demonstrated hacking through special software KALI Linux and through websites like http://www.digitalattackmap.com which gives live data of DoS attacks of the world. |
Ms. Shano Solanki, Mr. Vipin Gupta, Expert from U-Net Solutions, Mr. Ravdeep Sodi, Expert from eCore Techno Solutions conducted the session as per schedule. |

On 22nd Nov 2013 an online Valedictory Session was organized. Dr. M.P. Poonia Director NITTTR Chandigarh graced the session as the Chief Guest. He congratulated his team members and all network centers for their effort in successful conduction of the STP. He also took Feedback for the STP from the participants from all the connected centers. Prof. K.K. Mishra from CSE and Prof. Mahamaya Mohanty from IT department gave their feedback and thanked NITTTR for the STP. |
