DRONACHARYA GROUP OF INSTITUTIONS, GREATER NOIDA

Workshop on Aerospace Awareness: Design & Analysis

A One day Workshop on Aerospace Awareness: Design & Analysis was organized at Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida by AUSY Technologies India Pvt. Ltd. on 22nd October, 2013. Students from DGI, Greater Noida and Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon participated in the workshop along with their faculty members.

Prof. D. V. Bhise, Head of Department, Mechanical Engineering, introduced guest speakers

Mr. Jan Onne Backhus, Director Offshore, Elan–Ausy, Hamburg Germany,

Mr. Vikram Jain, Business & Delivery Director, Ausy Technologies, &

Mr. Anwer Adil, Ausy Technologies Gurgaon.

 

Prof. (Dr.) M. S. Murali, Director, Prof. B. L. Kaul, Registrar, and Mr. Ashwani Kumar, Administrator-Academics, DGI Greater Noida greeted Mr. Jan Onne Backhus, Mr. Vikram Jain, Mr. Anwer Adil and Ms. Sandy with bouquet.

 

AUSY Technologies India Pvt. Ltd. Gurgaon is a France MNC. AUSY is a group of consulting and engineering in advanced technologies. The company has over 19 sites in France and is also present in more than ten countries, (39 Locations) including Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, the Benelux, Romania, Sweden and the India. Its range of services is built around two areas of expertise: information system management and organisation; and outsourced R&D and industrial systems.

 

The workshop was organized in three sessions.

 

In the first session Mr. Vikram Jain introduced his company Ausy Technologies and its working domain. He discussed about its clients all over the world. The main focus area of the company is on 3P Management System: People, Project & Processes. He also discussed about the following Aerospace domain including:

1. Aerospace structure
2. Wiring& Circuits,
3. Cabin, Interior Design,
4. System Engineering
5. Embedded system
6. Technical Publications
7. Production Support
8. Plant Layout
9. And Documentation

 

Second session was conducted by Mr. Jan Onne Backhus, Director Offshore, Elan – Ausy, Hamburg Germany where he discussed about analysis of various aircraft components. He discussed in detail about:

1. Why testing is so important for aircraft
2. Frame Bending Test on aircraft
3. Examples of failure in aircraft components
4. Crash Simulation
5. Composite Structures Analysis

 

He also explained three live projects with detail analysis. Frame bending test was explained in detail and the root cause of failure was discussed. Students took keen interest during his presentation.

 

Last session was conducted by Mr. Anwer Adil, where he explained AERO-CAD, ANSYS, software used for aircraft design and analysis purpose. He explained about
1. Side shell design
2. Electric Bracket Installation Drawing
3. Stress Justification 

 

After the workshop during high tea, discussion was held regarding mutual cooperation for developing student skills specific to aerospace industry. Company officials agreed to hire some good students for summer internship in their company. These students shall be further absorbed as Engineers.

 

Mementoes were presented to the guest speakers as a token of their contribution in enhancing students interest in the aero dynamics field.
